On Feb. 20, around 600 people attended a scholarship gala at the Ohio Union celebrating the legacy of John Glenn on the 50th anniversary of his Friendship 7 space flight. The keynote speaker was NASA astronaut Mark Kelly, commander of the space shuttle Endeavour’s final mission. Tickets were $1,000, with the more than $2 million in proceeds benefiting faculty, students and programs related to science and technology research and policy at the John Glenn School of Public Policy and the College of Engineering.
