The Community Shelter Board welcomed 800 guests to the Columbus Convention Center Grand Ballroom for its 16th annual celebration June 2. Attendees enjoyed performances by Huge Taiko and the presentation of the Mel Schottenstein Leadership Award to Barbara Poppe, executive director of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. A total $1.25 million in cash and in-kind contributions was raised for the shelter board’s homeless support programs. Tickets started at $50.
