Why do we love our pets so much? For starters, “It’s nice having someone there that is happy to see you every time, especially after a bad day.” That unconditional affection, described by BalletMet’s Adrienne Benz, is returned a thousand times over by the five pet lovers we spoke to. From the dancer’s dogs who love bananas, to the food-blogger’s hound with his own Twitter handle, and from the Crew players’ soccer-watching cat to the wall-climbing gecko, these Columbus pets don’t just have a special place their owners’ hearts, they are beloved members of the family.
