How did you and your roommate (Crew forward Justin Meram) find Ava? We visited many shelters throughout Columbus and didn’t have any luck finding a kitten. We finally found Ava through Pets Without Parents, and it was instant love.
Describe Ava’s personality: Ava definitely loves attention and she hates being alone. The minute we walk in the door she’s “meowing” at the top of her lungs welcoming us home. She’s very playful, too, loves a good wrestling match, or playing fetch with her talking mouse.
Any funny stories to share about Ava? Ava has come to like soccer, which is convenient. During the Euro Championships, Justin and I would watch every game and she would sit on the TV stand watching intently, with the sporadic paw trying to kick the ball through the screen.
Would you say Ava is spoiled? She’s the woman of the house with Uncle Justin and me. She has free reign. When we drink milk with our dinner she entitles herself to drink out of our glasses. Also, when Ava is ready to get up in the morning, she lets you know—full sprints in my bedroom accompanied with high-pitched “meows.” Usually she wins and I’m up.
Does she have a favorite food, other than cat food? I try and limit the people food, but occasionally when I grill chicken I will share a piece with her. Usually it’s gone in seconds.
What has Ava added to your life? Ava has been great. She is good company and is always making us laugh or smile. I’ve always wanted to rescue or give an animal a comfortable home. I’m glad we got her. She seems pretty happy.
