Since mysteriously shuttering in mid-June, there hasn’t been much info on Downtown tapas lounge Barrio. Turns out the place was purchased by the Dae Oh Restaurant Group, which includes Black Olive and Two Fish Bistro in the Short North. Manager Jonathan Tefler remained mum on the future of the menu or the spot’s staff. “But we’re tentatively hoping to reopen by late July,” Tefler says.
This is the second place originally owned by Jeff Mathes of Due Amici to close recently, following 2011’s loss of French-accented Bar L’Etranger. That building is now for sale.
