Dave Phalen took this photo of the new Main Street Bridge on an evening in early August. “I love that bridge,” he says. Asked if he considers himself a hobbyist or a professional photographer, Phalen replies, “I would say that I’m a serious hobbyist.” The German Village resident adds that he’s been shooting photos since he was in grammar school, but credits his 2001 retirement and advances in digital technology for his resurgent interest.
