About our landfill
Landfill
Just when I decided I may stop rinsing out my cat food cans, along with all my other cans, and simply trash it all, I read Jeff Long’s article on our wonderful landfill site [“Landfill as tourist attraction?”—November]. My congratulations to all who are involved in cleaning up after us. I shall continue to rinse my empty food cans and put everything in my two duct-taped recycle bins and try to alleviate some of the hard work SWACO must endure each day.
I hope, after reading this article, the people of Franklin County think twice and recycle more of their items.

Cooper Stadium
I would like to clarify that a statement that was attributed to me regarding the proposed Cooper Park development [“The roar over Cooper Stadium”—October] was actually that of the Downtown Residents’ Association of Columbus (DRAC) board of trustees.

Jory Farr
I want to sing a song of praise for Jory Farr’s “My problem with poetry slams” in the October issue. Partly for its keen observations, but mostly for its superior prose style. The piece could be used in sessions on essay writing as an exemplary blend of subject and language. I found the piece very readable.
