The fifth annual Short North Gala was held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral May 1 and drew more than 350 people. The evening celebrated the contributions of the community’s Unsung Heroes and community developers. After the awards program, guests strolled through the outdoor courtyard and ballroom and mingled with restaurant chefs as they demonstrated how to prepare some of their restaurants’ most delicious offerings. Guests also dined on dishes from Short North restaurants and sipped specialty cocktails courtesy of the district’s bars and taverns. Proceeds from the evening totaled $13,000, which benefits the initiatives of the Short North Business Association, including the Unsung Hero Awards and Grants.
