Margaret Standing & Chris Lentz

When Margaret Standing and Chris Lentz married Dec. 3, 2011, at Dublin Community Church, it was the second marriage for both. So in planning the big event, Standing says, “We felt like anything was open.” However, she adds, laughing, “Our families would have killed us if we did anything small.”
The bride has a son and daughter, and Lentz, who owns an auto industry software company, has three daughters, so the couple’s first priority was integrating their children into the ceremony. “It meant as much to all of them to see us be so happy again as it did to us,” says Standing, director of corporate communications for Bob Evans Farms. She adds that the biggest obstacle was finding an available date because “trying to schedule a wedding with five kids and their activities is near impossible.”
During the ceremony, two of Lentz’s daughters sang “Lucky,” a duet by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. “It was one of the best moments of the day,” says the bride. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.” Lentz’s other daughter read a poem by Shel Silverstein, while Standing’s son and daughter served as the ring bearer and flower girl.
In lieu of an immediate honeymoon, the newlyweds, who met on Match.com in 2008, bought their first home together. “The weirdest part was we got married, went back to our respective houses and worked that week,” says Standing, laughing. The couple is considering, however, either a European honeymoon or a family vacation to the Caribbean. (The kids are lobbying for the latter.)
The bride says another favorite memory of the wedding day was when her new husband kissed her longer than anyone expected. “It went on for two minutes,” she says. “We got a round of applause, but the kids all had their heads in their hands.”
Standing says she and Lentz are appreciative of each other, which is part of the reason “Lucky” is their song. “We just feel so lucky that we found each other.”
