Caffeine Convention

During the inaugural North Market Coffee Roast last March, 1,000 mugs sold out in two hours, and baristas pulling espresso, brewing coffee and grinding beans blew so many fuses that market staff decided to upgrade the power grid before an encore event March 23. “It was a little insane,” marketing director Mary Martineau says. “Apparently there’s a healthy coffee culture here in Columbus.” From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., java drinkers will find seed-to-cup demos, live music, a home-roasting competition and gourmet brews from about a dozen Ohio roasters. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $12 at the door. See more at: northmarket.com
