WHEN I’M NOT WORKING:
I’m with Columbus Charity Newsies. I try to get involved with Columbus Young Professionals. My weekends are usually dedicated to doing some recording. A spare bedroom in my house is a recording studio.
I LOVE TO READ:
Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer.
I LOVE TO WATCH:
“Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Office,” “Parks & Rec” and Back to the Future. That scene where Michael J. Fox is playing “Johnny B. Goode” on the guitar . . . I wanted to be him.
BEST VACATION:
In 2006, my friends and I flew to Vegas for New Year’s Eve. We crashed all day Jan. 1 then drove to Tempe, Arizona, that night for the Buckeyes’ bowl game. We drove back to Vegas to catch the flight home. We’re going 80 mph through the desert and this car just flies by us. It was A.J. Hawk and Brady Quinn’s sister (Hawk’s wife).
MY PRIZED POSSESSION:
A box full of tickets for all of the concerts I’ve been to. There’s like 300 in there. One day I’m going to make a collage.
MOST SPONTANEOUS THING I’VE EVER DONE:
When I was 18, I got my tongue pierced on a dare. My parents didn’t know for a week and were less than pleased when I showed them.
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A SIGNIFICANT OTHER?
Self-confidence, intelligence, ambition, adventurous, able to play off each other’s strengths and weaknesses. The ability to understand each other without having to say it. Someone who enjoys exercise, who is spontaneous, fun and open-minded.
THE MOST UNIQUE WAY I’VE MET SOMEONE:
Back in my high school days, I worked across from this very gorgeous girl in the mall. I had my grandfather bring her a bouquet of flowers and he put in a good word for me. She’s still one of my closest friends to this day. And no, my grandfather is not for hire.
BEST DATE I’VE EVER HAD:
All of my best dates have involved going to a concert.
WORST DATE I’VE EVER HAD:
I had the most awkward fail ever. I picked up Cleveland Cavaliers tickets from a friend for this girl, but they were a row apart from each other. I pick this girl up, and I’m carrying the conversation. We spent 30 minutes of silence in traffic, then end up sitting apart at the game because no one would switch with us. It was basically a carpool. I felt defeated.
THOUGHTS ON MY FUTURE:
Family is important to me. So much of life is learned through the dynamics of the family unit. While I’m not ready for kids just yet, I think one day I’d be ecstatic to be a father.
WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO ME?
I think it’s important to be bold in life, to make your own self and to make a dent in the universe. Steve Jobs probably copyrighted that last part.
