Hangover Healing
The Japanese raisin tree could change holiday drinking forever.
A raisin-tree extract that boosts the liver’s ability to process alcohol is the backbone of new hangover remedy Life Support, unleashed this month by five Central Ohio entrepreneurs. The bender-easing compound is popular in South Korea, where two years ago company president Terry Yanko used it during a week of late-night business meetings. “When I tried it, a half hour later I felt totally renewed after five days of constant drinking,” he recalls.
Life Support tastes like apples and should be consumed chilled after drinking, vice president Zach Beebe says. The 3.72-ounce bottles retail for $4.95 at local liquor and convenience stores.
