THE FALL RUNWAY COLLECTION I LOVE
Jil Sander, with her really strong lines. It’s always classic, simple and minimalist. I want to have products in my store that stand the test of time.
THREE PIECES YOU NEED TO BE ON TREND THIS FALL
1. Strong pants. They will be the statement piece in wardrobes. I love the wide legs and higher waistline. It’s beautiful and feminine.
2. A sweater knit. One that’s chunky and almost hand-knit-looking. Try it as a belted cardigan, or use it as a coat.
3. A new handbag. Big bags will be important this fall. It doesn’t have to be leather or over-the-top, just interesting.
TRANSITION TIP
Invest in a really fun pair of boots. Take the summer dresses you were wearing, and throw on a cardigan with the boots. It’s feminine, and it’s functional because you’re warm.
RIGHT NOW, I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT MY...
Black skirt. I’m doing a 100-day challenge—I’m wearing it for 100 days in 2012. It’s a commitment to thinking sustainably and wearing an item year-round. It’s cotton, machine-washable and it breathes.
