The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Partners in Conservation held their annual fundraiser, the Rwandan Fete, on Sept. 17. The evening included music, dinner, a live auction and an open-air African Marketplace to benefit conservation and humanitarian efforts in Central Africa. Guest speakers included Frederick Ndabaramiye and Zachary Dusingizimana, founders of the Ubumwe Community Center in Rwanda. All monies raised directly support projects in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo to benefit both wildlife and people. Tickets were $65, or $500 for a table of eight.
