Designer Genevieve Gorder, host of HGTV's "Dear Genevieve," is scheduled to appear July 31 at the BIA Parade of Homes in New Albany.

The annual BIA Parade of Homes will feature more than just custom homes and decorating ideas--several design celebrities are making an appearance at the two-week event.

The parade, which begins Saturday and runs through Aug. 8 in New Albany's Ackerly Park neighborhood, will showcase eight homes from local builders.

The first celebrity to drop in is HGTV's Frank Fontana from "Design on a Dime." Fontana will be hosting a Q & A session this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Genevieve Gorder, "Trading Spaces" alumna and current "Dear Genevieve" host is scheduled to appear on Saturday, July 31. From 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Gorder will participate in a Q & A session and visit the M/I Homes parade house.

Gorder's appearance "brings an entertainment aspect beyond what people typically see at the homes," said Jim Hilz, BIA executive director. "It is education from someone nationally known."

Tickets for the 2010 BIA Parade of Homes are $12 per person and will be sold on site. For event hours and more details, visit www.BIAParade.com.
