The end of summer is a great time to bargain hunt in the Short North. File photo by Kyle Robertson/The Columbus Dispatch
If you haven't been to the Short North recently, the warm weather provides a good excuse to go. While there, you can visit old favorites and discover some relatively new faces. Among the newbies:
Brigade, 607 N. High St., features men's and women's clothing, including flirty dresses and work-appropriate sportswear. The store carries lots of sophisticated Saturday-wear -- stylish and fun stuff to wear to ballgames, dinner or wherever else you might be enjoying yourself. Brigade has a light, airy, easy vibe. Very cool. (Note: Only one of each item is displayed. If you don't see your size, be sure to ask; it's probably stashed in the back.) National Jean Company, 761 N. High St., has moved into Dr. Mojoe's old digs. The sunny, bright shop -- part of a national chain -- carries (you guessed it) high-end denim and sportswear. It sells only women's goods -- so guys, don't go searching unless you're buying for her. Truffle lovers, unite: Chocoholique, 601 N. High St., is open for business.
