There are many talented jewelry makers around our fine city, but Teresa Morbitzer is a stand-out among all-stars. Her Vintage Vamp line, crafted from vintage and new pieces, gives the classics just enough funk to make them modern. And her prices are incredibly reasonable (most earrings are $24; statement necklaces start around $50). She's hosting an open house at her small (hidden!) German Village studio, 603 Lathrop St., Dec. 9 (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.), Dec. 10 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Dec. 11 (12 p.m. to 4 p.m.). She'll have appetizers, drinks, and paintings by artist Jennifer Float. Morbitzer was a 20-year art teacher before deciding to make jewelry full-time. She'll even take your grandma's pieces and turn them into something you want to wear. Cool stuff. And fabulous gifts (for you or someone else!). For more, call her at 614-218-3734.
