Calling all brides seeking a sleek and modern Downtown venue-we got a sneak peek last week at a new venue that may be perfect for your upcoming nuptials. Cameron Mitchell Catering's newest party spot, The Ivory Room on the sixth floor of Miranova, boasts large picture windows with a beautiful view of the Scioto Mile and Downtown skyline. Windows wrap around the exterior walls of this L-shaped space large enough to seat 275 for a reception (oh, and that's with chiavari chairs which come standard here) and 400 for cocktails. "We knew we had to have something Downtown," says Melissa Johnson, director of catering. She adds, the idea of opening a downtown event space has been in the works for a few years. In fact, Cameron Mitchell Catering has hosted a few large events in an unfinished room on the ninth floor of Miranova. But, when it came to branding their own space, they wanted something a bit more intimate.

While still under construction (The Ivory Room won't be ready for its first event until September), the planned décor is designed to enhance the Downtown skyline view: ivory walls, hardwood floors, five chandeliers, a glass walled entrance, exposed industrial-style ceilings painted black. There will also be a kitchen prep space and bridal suite with its own bathroom, vanity and private entrance. "We wanted to keep it elegant, but as neutral as possible. People want a place they can put their touch on," Johnson says. "It's a beautiful blank slate."

Soon-to-be-newlyweds seem as excited as the Cameron Mitchell team-as of last week they had five weddings booked for this year already. Interested in The Ivory Room? Contact Cameron Mitchell Catering. –Beth Stallings
