The Flea founder models three looks for summer
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a SUMMER (and to anyone who doesn't…Hi, I'm a SUMMER!).
I'm all about the colors, the elongated daylight, the margaritas. Everything feels a little sweeter, sunnier, more free spirited in this time of year than any other. And so I try to dress accordingly.
On a Lazy Day:
I love my thrifted embroidered Mexican dress. Lightweight cotton with bright colors and hand stitched details-one of my all-time favorite scores. It pairs nicely with my handmade leather sandals that I picked up on a recent LA visit. And no park hang would be complete without a mama-size Flea Bag tote (in minty green). It's big enough for blankets, books, magazines, records, snacks and so on.

For a Shoppin' Adventure:
I never feel more at home than when I'm in a pair of jean shorts. These light-wash lovelies are my current favorite because I always prefer a higher rise on my denim, and I really dig the printed, exposed pockets. I like the way this tomato tinted shell strikes the wash of the denim. Paired with my desert-lookin' suede shoes, it's a comfortable, casual outfit that pieces together with ease. And because summertime calls for a straw fedora, I oblige-with pleasure. Lastly, a Born to be Flea Bag makes for a sweet little shopping companion!

For a Happy Hour:
Summer is happy hour season in my eyes (Tecate, anyone?), and for such occasions, I often rely on another of my treasured thrift finds: my acid-wash jean skirt. It's a high-rise pencil style that goes great with a little tucked-in tank. I find it evens out my short-girl proportions. But it's a simple look that needs a little something, so I like to add my brass and horn cube necklace that I scored on a trip to New York not too long ago. Sling back wedges for height, a Rizzy clutch for color, and a mama-size Flea Bag to carry around all I need to transition from desk chair to bar stool.

NOTE THE TOTE: I take a Flea Bag with me almost everywhere (as the pictures clearly show). Your next chance to snag one of these babies (and to fill it up with local treasures) is Summer Flea on August 4th at Seventh Son Brewing. Hope to see you there!
Happy summer, everyone!
