Get your costume ready and head Downtown
Get your costume ready.
HighBall Halloween, the two-day (this year!) Halloween celebration complete with a costume contest, a 5K, a runway show and more, is this weekend. It draws quite a crowd-somewhere close to 20,000.
Head to the Short North on Friday, Oct. 24, starting at 6 p.m. to enjoy the HighBall Muralists, a real-time production of paintings in the middle of High St.
The fun continues from there and won't end until Saturday, Oct. 25, with a costume contest. Want to compete? Just show up any time between 7 and 10 p.m. on Saturday. If you're handed a golden ticket, that means you should head to the Main Stage at 11 p.m. with the other finalists.
Special costume awards include:
Most Brilliant (best use of light)
Best Transformation (costumes that transform from one look to another)
Best Extreme Face Painting
Best Old School (reinterpretations of traditional costumes)
Most Artistic (creative and innovative)
