"My present day life is a complete 180-degree change from my previous way of living"
Our January issue is devoted to living well, with tons of helpful tips on being fit, happy and healthy. So we're featuring stories from real women-women who've gotten healthy and made themselves over in a magnificent way. Here is Sarah Stalter's story.

Weight lost: 130 pounds lost-starting weight was 264 pounds
Inches lost: I was a size 24W and am now in a size seven.
Motivation: I was extremely depressed with my life and saw no light at the end of the tunnel. I knew I needed a positive focus in my life, and I knew food was something I always thought about, so limiting my food intake would take my mind off of the negatives. I logged into Facebook on a sunny August day in 2011 and saw a posting about AdvoCare's 24-Day Challenge. It was a "here's your sign" moment. Fast-forward two years, and I've lost 130 pounds to date.
Workout regime: After getting my nutrition under control and dropping 30 pounds, I was able to start exercising. I was in the gym six days a week for 45 minutes. I started with the recumbent bike and worked my way up to the elliptical. I now focus mainly on strength training due to preparing for Tough Mudder.
Favorite one-hour workout: Leg day! Lunges, squats, step-ups, deadlifts, calf presses, hamstring curls and box jumps
Diet: I eat every three-ish hours. My daily foods consist of lean meats (flank steak and chicken), complex carbs (brown rice and sweet potatoes), healthy fats (almonds and peanut butter) and vegetables. I absolutely give myself permission to indulge in unhealthy foods once a week.
Favorite healthy snack: Flank steak and a rice cake
Greatest challenge: Because I was an emotional eater, my greatest challenge was confronting my emotions and dealing with them instead of hiding them behind food.
Most exciting success: Being recognized by AdvoCare for my weight loss and speaking in front of 30,000 people at the Dallas Cowboys' stadium
Best advice: Never compare your journey to someone else's.
