Substance owner Christina Getachew announced today she's closing her stores

Christina Getachew, owner of Short North boutique Substance, announced today that she's closing her stores to spend more time with her family.

"This isn't a decision I've come to lightly, and more than anything else, I came to it through a desire to make my family my primary focus. I have an unwaveringly supportive husband and two beautiful nine-year-old daughters. I've also had at least one Substance retail storefront for the past eight years, and that has meant missed soccer games, cancelled date nights and vacations from which I could never really unplug," Getachew writes in her announcement.

The store, which focuses on sustainable fashion, will officially close in mid June, as will the Cincinnatilocation. Getachew is considering offers to sell, but those interested must meet an April 30 deadline.

Substance will offer a 25 percent off markdown, both in-stores and online with code FAREWELLOH. Follow the Substance Facebook for updates on the sale and closing. Click here to read more about Getachew & Substance.
