Sometimes it's too easy for those of us in the wedding world to forget most soon-to-be-newlyweds don't always know where to begin the planning process.

Sometimes it's too easy for those of us in the wedding world to forget most soon-to-be-newlyweds don't always know where to begin the planning process.

Thankfully, I was reminded of this fact as work began for this issue.

A guy friend of mine sent me an email seeking advice on where to go for an original and fabulous engagement ring. I shared my insight (lucky for us, Columbus has several amazing jewelers; check our "Be Dazzling" ring story) and kept his secret until he proposed just after Christmas.

When it came to planning, this opinionated couple had a general idea of where to start: Set the date. Book the venue, the church and the band. But a few months later, my girlfriend was stuck. "Where should I go for a wedding dress?" she asked me. "Where can I get great invitations?"

It's with my dear friends in mind-who I know all you brides-to-be can relate to-that I went about crafting story ideas for this issue.

You've got wedding planning questions, and we've got the answers.

How can you craft a day full of personal touches? Read "Make it Personal," a planning story with advice on choosing a color scheme, hiring a DJ and more.

Not sure about venue options? We've got 30 in "Fit the Feel."

Where should you look for a gorgeous gown? See what's trending in area bridal couture in "Aisle Style," and then ogle our favorite options in "White Ideas."

In our wedding details feature, we let creativity reign free, asking some of the city's best local cake, floral and stationary designers to craft tiered desserts, bridal bouquets and invitations to show off their talents. (Plus, we've got a delicious dessert table with a dozen sweets from some of our favorite bakeries and caterers.)

Think of us as the perfect wedding starter kit, full of not only great advice from local pros, but also local vendors whom you can trust to help create the fairytale wedding you deserve.

And don't forget we've got more great tips on our weekly wedding blog every Wednesday at Capital-Style.com.

Happy Planning!
