The Dublin Irish Festival's Celtic Canine area offers three days of entertainment.
For our August issue, we spoke with the grooming experts at Doggie Day Spa in Grandview, as well as local pet-owners, about their summertime grooming tips and tricks. To continue the puppy love-we're officially in the dog days of summer, after all-I'm heading to the Dublin Irish Festival this weekend to check out the Celtic Canine area.
Breeders from throughout the Midwest will do training and grooming demonstrations each day of the festival (Fri, 5 and 7 p.m.; Sat, noon, 2, 5 and 6:30 p.m.; Sun, noon, 2, 4 and 6 p.m.). Irish wolfhounds, Irish setters, soft-coated wheaten terriers, Irish terriers, Kerry blue terriers and the rare Glen of Imaal terrier will be present for meet-and-greets post-demonstration (but leave your own pups at home).
