As a sales consultant for wine distributor Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, Constance Begue has enjoyed her fair share of wine dinners and tastings in Columbus' finest restaurants. But when she's off the clock, the Delaware resident with an affinity for rosés and bubbly prefers dining close to home. We asked the nine-year wine industry veteran what meals please her palate.
Dive Bar:Gabby's Place in Delaware. "I love their pizza. The crust is perfect every time. And the Delaware Destroyer Stromboli is awesome. It's got pepperoni, sausage, onion, mushroom, green pepper, olives-it's got everything."
Upscale Bar:Seven Stars Bar in the Worthington Inn. "It's super cozy and has gorgeous mahogany wood, Tiffany glass, nice cocktails and affordable wine prices. I'll have a glass of bubbly or a classic dirty martini."
Special Occasion Restaurant:Veritas Tavern. "I'm devastated it's leaving Delaware. My must-have is their pork belly on a steamed roll. They have amazing cocktails and rosés aplenty. They have great prices on their wines. Their tasting menu is always incredible. It's a food journey."
Takeout:Mojo Tago in Powell. "I like their Korean barbecue option. And their pineapple salsa is to die for."
All-Time Favorite Meal:Wasabi Tuna Flatbread at Matt the Miller's Tavern. "It has my favorite things: avocado, wasabi and tuna. It has an amazing soy glaze, and it never disappoints."
