What a great weekend for sausage lovers. It's Oktoberfest, which this year is also marking the 125th anniversary of the legendary Schmidt's Restaurant & Sausage Haus in German Village. The festival runs Friday-Sunday at the Ohio Expo Center and fairgrounds. There will be tons of beer to drink and plenty of polka to dance to and lots of cream puffs to eat.

Schmidt's first opened as a meat packing business in 1886, and has since grown into a tourist destination that attracts about 25,000 people each month.

This weekend, Schmidt's will be serving up its famous Bahama Mamas, bratwursts, frankfurters, fried bologna, German potato salad, sauerkraut and the much-adored jumbo cream puffs. There'll also be sauerkraut balls from Hey Hey, German pastries from Juergen's, and pierogies and wiener schnitzel from Mozart's.
