Cancel your plans for a sleepy Thursday night this week--there's a bevy of food-focused events happening around town for you to choose from instead. Schedule your stomach space accordingly:

Local Brews & Burgers at the Columbus Commons: It's the first in a series of after-work happy hours on the Commons, a chance to savor the last few bearable-to-be-outside days before cold weather settles in. Each Thursday, a different local brewery will be on hand to pour beers--for this first event, look for selections from Neil House Brewery--to go with burgers and music from 5 to 7 p.m. Look for it back by the carousel along Rich Street.

Fifth by Northwest Pizza Crawl: Jumping off from the new Grandview Grind coffee shop (1423 Grandview Ave.), this event serves as a gastronomic tour of the neighborhood, with several pizza places offering up slices for $1, plus the opportunity to vote on your favorite and crown the neighborhood's best pies. Past participants have included Sparano's, Panzera's and Granddad's, among others. The crawl runs from 6-8 p.m.

Clintonville's 165th birthday celebration at Vienna Ice Cafe: And, to cap off your evening, head to Vienna Ice Cafe for their contribution to Clintonville's birthday celebration. All the proceeds from your scoop of ice cream Thursday will go to the Clintonville school of your choice--the perfect excuse to turn that single dip into a double...maybe even a triple. It's for a good cause, right?
