Downtown lunch favorite's bar offers new evening perch

Your favorite healthy Downtown lunch spot just became your favorite after-work happy hour spot. Market 65 has installed a new bar-dubbed, appropriately, the Salad Bar-that overlooks a fountain courtyard and, beyond, the Ohio Statehouse.

After 4 p.m., customers can now order glasses of wine or choose from a rotating selection of Ohio microbrews-expect to see picks from local favorites Columbus Brewing Company and Weasel Boy, says proprietor Anthony Michelli.

It's quite a change from the salad-centric restaurant's old happy hour deal: a free fountain drink with the purchase of a salad after 5 p.m. But if you're a regular at Market 65, you'll know the appeal has never been just about the salad.

For much of the demographic, giant bowls of locally grown veggies are only half the draw-it's as much about watching an assembly line of amiable guys who are noticeably hunkier than the average kitchen staff chop, dress and serve your greens with a smile.

Meet the men of Market 65. And ladies, don't pretend that's not why you're willing to stand in lines that long for a salad.
