J-Pops

The classic summer cool-down treat has gotten a decidedly grown-up makeover with J-Pops, a Columbus-based gourmet ice-pop company. Steven White’s handcrafted popsicles come in sophisticated seasonal flavors like Grapefruit Hibiscus, Cucumber-Lime-Mint and Sour Plum, inspired by fresh herbs and seasonal produce from local farmers markets. You can find them at Celebrate Local, Hills Market Downtown and various farmers markets and festivals. myjpops.com

Harvest Pizza

This year, Jeni Britton Bauer issued a challenge to Harvest Pizzeria owner Chris Crader: Could he craft a good frozen pie she could distribute alongside other locally produced products under her Eat Well Distribution label? It took a few hundred tries, but eventually the German Village pizza shop was able to recreate three versions of its popular pies—Spicy Yuma, Fennel Sausage and Ohio Mushroom—with more hopefully on the way. Find them in the freezers at Weiland’s Gourmet Market, both Hills Markets and Huffman’s Market. harvestpizzeria.com –Evan Matsumoto

Brezel

Coming up on its third-year anniversary, it’s been a big year for this once-tiny North Market stand. First, the Bavarian pretzel shop expanded its stand when it shifted a spot over to the slot vacated by Clever Crow Pizza. This allowed Brezel owners Maria Gentile and Brittany Baum to not only open seven days a week, but to also start offering frozen iterations of their original, cinnamon sugar, jalapeno and rosemary and garlic & olive oil flavors—meaning the solution to your soft pretzel craving can be as close as your freezer. brezelpower.com –Beth Stallings

Luna Burgers

The veteran in this group of locally-made frozen foods, Luna Burger is also distributed through Eat Well and can be found in grocery stores and on menus around town, including Bernard’s Tavern, Grandview Cafe, Skillet and The Tavern. Crafted from Ohio-grown ingredients, find these vegetarian patties in combinations like Garden Thyme, Farmhouse Chili, BBQ and Peanut Cilantro.
