Vicki Hink closed her Olde Towne East bakery and cafe for six days at the start of the year to give it a fresh look and updated menu. Now, in addition to the new pastry case, shelving and repositioned seating at The Angry Baker, you'll find subtle changes to the breakfast and lunch menus, like swapping a house-made bagel a for brioche bun on the smoked salmon sandwich. Plus, the always-vegan-friendly bakery has even more meatless options, Hink says. A few more noticeable updates include lunch bowls (think brown rice, barbecue tofu and veggies like black bean and corn salsa) and a Taco Trio with a choice of pulled pork or barbecue tofu. "Why? Because I love tacos," Hink says with a laugh. Also on the menu are more gluten-free choices, including gluten-free oatmeal pancakes. "That's something we hadn't focused on in the past, and now there are a lot more," she says.
