Co-owner and wholesale manager Sarah Bryant has been at Pattycake Bakery for a decade.
The vegetarian is on the board of the Clintonville Farmers' Market and volunteers at Friends of the Homeless Garden in Olde Towne East. When she's not growing vegetables, she's likely eating them. We asked her about her favorites.
Special occasion: The Table. “I love the mismatched and eclectic plates, chairs and tables. The Smoked Lentils small plate is full of flavor and the Spicy South Indian Jackfruit Curry is rich and satisfying.”
Carryout: Little Eater. “I've been a fan of Cara Mangini for years. I'm obsessed with the beet and avocado sandwich, as well as the carrot and rutabaga couscous. Cara's cookbook, ‘The Vegetable Butcher,' is always open in my kitchen.”
Dive Bar: St. James Tavern. “You can't go wrong with anything they have on tap. The laid-back vibe is just my speed.”
Indian Food: Indian Oven. “The service is top-notch. I always get the vegetarian platter to share, with dal makhani and two other veggie curries.”
Breakfast: Blunch. “The name threw me, but my first impression was wrong. The bright and sunny brunch spot features art by Stephanie Rond and Adam Hernandez on the walls. And the food is delicious. I love the breakfast burrito with Soyrizo.”
