The new restaurant serves comfort food steeped in family history

Ambrose and Eve opened its doors Tuesday, Nov. 27, but as Alive editor Andy Downing wrote in last week's cover story, it was no easy feat for chefs/owners Catie Randazzo and Matthew Heaggans.

Downing followed Randazzo and Heaggans for 18 months as the pair, who also own Preston’s: A Burger Joint, worked to open their Brewery District restaurant. Along the way they faced construction delays, missed deadlines, hospitalization, a family death and a (thankfully) aborted stabbing.

After you read the cover story, take a look behind the menu at Ambrose and Eve, and get the story on dishes like macaroni and cheese and cereal milk pancakes.
