Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue

For everyone who says Tinder is only good for one thing, Michelle and Justin Morrison are here to prove you wrong. The two met via the dating app, and although Justin “almost backed out of [the] first date,” they both say it was love at first sight. (Or was it first swipe?)

During a romantic Valentine’s Day weekend in an Amish Country cabin, Justin played Kodaline’s “The One” and invited Michelle to slow-dance with him inside a heart made of tea lights and sprinkled with rose petals. During the dance, he pulled the ring out of the petals and popped the question.

“We had talked about getting married many times, but I loved that I was still surprised when he actually got down on one knee,” says Michelle. “How could I say no?”

After a short engagement—“Only three months!” exclaims Michelle—the couple proved everyone wrong once more by having a Friday the 13th wedding where “good luck was on our side,” says Michelle. It was officiated by Justin’s best friend from childhood, and the couple wrote personal wedding vows.

Other adorable details included Michelle’s father’s socks, which said, “Of all our walks, this is my favorite,” and the couple’s wedding hashtag: #singlenomorrison. Michelle, a graphic designer, also created their wedding website with a matching URL. We also loved the newlyweds’ gift to their attendants: Michelle gave her bridesmaids gift certificates to Massage Envy (“for putting up with me,” she says with a laugh) and Justin’s groomsmen received wooden watches and miniature, monogrammed whiskey barrels.
