BrewDog's DogTap Columbus

The Scottish brewing company handpicked Central Ohio for its USA headquarters. Along with it, DogTap Columbus, a destination-worthy brewpub is now open.

Watershed Kitchen & Bar, Grandview

Watershed has put together a solid team with the hiring of chef Jack Moore (formerly of Clintonville's Sage American Bistro and Cleveland's The Black Pig) and bar manager Alex Chien. It's now open and reservations are highly recommended.

Buckeye Bourbon House, Downtown

Full disclosure: It's close proximity to the Columbus Monthly office has us excited about the prospect of this new happy hour spot with soaring ceilings and a bourbon focus. Now open.

Cosecha Cocina, Italian Village

One of the city's top restaurateurs, Chris Crader (Harvest and The Sycamore), looks to fill a void in this town with refined Mexican fare. Based on a preview dinner we had at Seventh Son and chef Silas Caeton's pedigree (formerly at Veritas Tavern and Rigsby's), there's reason to be excited.

Cravings Cafe, Downtown

After gaining a following in Italian Village, owners Matt and Lindsey Tewanger lost their lease in 2015. The couple plans to reopen Cravings on Front Street this year with breakfast, sandwiches, soups and salads.

The Service Bar, Short North

Middle West Spirits' buzzy restaurant will feature the talents of chef Avishar Barua (also formerly at Veritas Tavern) when it opens later this year.

Steam Kitchen, North Market

Chef Marcus Meacham (formerly at Kraft House No. 5) recently scored a prime North Market location for the creative steam bun operation he launched inside Little Rock Bar. Psst … check out the crispy chicken thigh steam bun.

Veritas Tavern, Downtown

Named Central Ohio's Best Restaurant in 2016 by this magazine, Veritas is headed to Downtown Columbus this year. As chef Josh Dalton moves the restaurant, known for its creative tasting menu, from its current Delaware location, his challenge will be adding lunch service.
