Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.

Debbie and Michael Privett spent more than 20 years on the cusp of knowing one another before a mutual friend finally introduced them. But while their relationship’s timeline might have a scale of cosmic grandeur, the couple’s big day was one of intimacy.

Their ceremony was small, with few guests and no bridesmaids or groomsmen. The same was true for the cake-and-Champagne reception that followed. Their most treasured memories from the day, accordingly, were small in scale but large in significance: Michael playing Debbie’s song, and Debbie giving Michael a Bible as a wedding gift.

Last Saturday, the happy couple celebrated their first anniversary!
