Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.

Kara and Alex Grant’s love story can definitely be described by their wedding’s theme: warm and romantic. Alex was living in Cincinnati when they met through mutual friends, so the couple made a long-distance relationship work until Alex decided to move to Columbus a year later. After dating for three years, Alex proposed on a surprise weekend getaway to Chicago, complete with Champagne delivered to their hotel room while the couple was out celebrating Kara’s birthday at The Publican.

The bride and groom were able to celebrate their love surrounded by family and friends, something which they remember as “truly magical.” Kara’s favorite aspect was the floral arrangements by Petals & Leaves, which she says “took my breath away!” She also loved how the ballroom space had been completely transformed, and remembers it as being “simply beautiful.”
