Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.

Couples meeting online is nothing new, but Jennifer and Giuseppe Iuni met on a more unconventional site: a forum for the trading card game Yu-Gi-Oh. They became close friends before even considering becoming a couple, and the internet was integral in making the distance between them seem small. (Giuseppe was living in New York, while Jennifer was in Pennsylvania; they’ve both since moved to Columbus.)

Their ceremony was as interesting as the way they first met, with the ring bearer pulling the flower girl down the aisle and the officiant’s cellphone going off at the beginning of the ceremony. Fortunately, neither incident had a negative impact on the day; in fact, they seemed to make it even more special. Jennifer recalls being was impressed by the officiant’s “amazing ability to turn [his phone] off without disrupting the service.”
