The wedding gown chain plans to continue operations as normal during the proceedings.
David’s Bridal Inc., the wedding and special occasion gown retailer that has been in business for more than 60 years, officially filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this morning, CNBC reports.
However, a message on the company’s website assures customers that its more than 300 stores will remain open and “all orders and alterations will be delivered as promised.”
According to Bloomberg, David’s aims to be out of bankruptcy by early January after signing an agreement that will restructure a majority of the company’s equity in addition to the $400 million the Chapter 11 filing will cut off of its debt.
Bloomberg also noted that David’s Bridal had 82,000 special orders—totaling $32 million in deposits—as of Oct. 31.
