Summer work, wedding and girls' night outfits

Spring gives us the opportunity to shed some of the bulk of winter wear, but summer is really the time when we can take it all off. Well, taking it ALL off is highly inappropriate in most public places, but you know what I mean. Summer let's us really show some skin-in a classy, not trashy, way. There's a difference, ladies. Anyway, here's a look at some of the outfits I'm rockin' this summer.

What I'm wearing to work:

Top (exact): $20 at Target Skirt (option): $11 at Target on clearance Shoes (exact): $20 at Target (on sale now for $16) Bracelet: free via Groopdealz Watch (option): $20 at Kohl's Earrings (option): $4 at Forever 21

I never feel like I have enough clothes for work, especially appropriate summer items. Or maybe because I spend 85 percent of my life in work clothes, I get bored with the same outfits. Yeah, that's probably it. Which is why my closets (yep, that's plural) are bursting at the seams. (Don't tell my husband I just admitted that to you!) So, I picked up this skirt at Target on clearance. I'm not a big skirt wearer, but this one was just different. I loved the color and pattern, and it was a great addition to my work wardrobe. And I swear these flats are the best purchase I've made all year. They go with everything.

What I'm wearing to a wedding/date night:

Dress (exact): $65 at New York and Company (on sale now for $32.50) Belt (option): $15 at New York and Company Shoes (option): $50 at DSW Bracelet: at Premier Designs Watch (exact): $25, with sale and coupons/Kohl's Cash, at Kohl's Earrings (exact): $4 at Forever 21 Can you believe I went to one of my best friend's weddings and didn't get a picture of my outfit? Blogger fail! Good thing my friends did. My apologies for the fuzziness. Hey, if you're looking for someone to invite to your wedding, I can make myself available. I eat, I drink, I dance, and I dress appropriately. Who wouldn't want me as their guest? Seriously though, I get so many compliments on this dress every time I wear it. It's great for weddings, work or a nice date night with my husband. Deciding what to wear to celebrate our wedding anniversary in August will be a no-brainer when I've got this amazing piece of fabric hanging in my closet.

What I'm wearing to happy hour/out with friends:

Tank (exact) (option): $7.50 at Old Navy Crops (option): $30 at Old Navy Scarf (option): $10 at Old Navy Sandals (option): $20 at Target Bracelet (option): $5 at Forever 21 When it comes to my style, often times less is more. Uh, I mean the simpler the better. My favorite, and go-to, outfit during the summer is a simple tank with shorts or crops and a lightweight scarf. And it's easy to spice this outfit up with a fun pair of heeled sandals or wedges. I just like to make sure whatever footwear I choose, it can withstand a long night and my dance moves. Ahem, Exhibit A: I think my dancing face really adds to the outfit. Don't you think? Clearly, the summer is when I really let my hair down. If you want to see how I've rocked my Crawl for Cancer t-shirt and a muddy set of workout clothes over the past two weekends, check out this and this post, respectively. What's your go-to summer outfit?
