Bohindi's Jamie Riley is launching a new brand, and we have a giveaway to celebrate
Local jewelry designer Jamie Riley, owner of Upper Arlington's Bohindi, announced today the launch of her newest brand, Riivver.
The collection of locally made necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings and handpieces are all crafted by hand and range in price from roughly $46 to $150. A portion of Riivver's proceeds will go toward keeping area waterways clean, a cause close to Riley's heart (and the inspiration behind the name).
Shop the brand at riivver.com or at 2134 Arlington Ave., Upper Arlington.

How did Riivver get its start?
We basically started when I was creating a line of yoga-inspired jewelry for a collection for Bohindi. That kind of took on a life of its own. It kept growing, and it just made sense.
Describe the brand's aesthetic.
It's intentional. It's very clean and natural. A lot of my inspiration came from the earth and earth elements. There's a lot of water in there. We use a lot of natural woods for the background of the images we photograph our products on.
What materials are you using?
We're using a lot of natural stones. A lot of gold-filled, a lot of raw brass. Vintage finds are incorporated into some of the pieces, which may make one product a limited run.
Any favorite pieces?
My favorite piece right now is the Mint River Bracelet. It's made of amazonite. It's a cool blue, turquoise, and it's brass and gold-filled.
And you'll be donating some of your sales to keep local waterways clean?
I really wanted to create a give-back program. A lot of people don't even know about how important it is to keep our rivers clean. It's such a vital part of our earth. That's kind of where the brand name came from. We'll be donating a percentage of our proceeds to the local river clean-up programs in Central Ohio. Next week we'll announce one specific item that will benefit those programs. And June is Ohio River Pride Month, too.
