Create costume couture for the fall fashion show

Costumes, couture and creativity-that's what to expect from the HighBall: Masquerade on High.

The organizers at the Short North Alliance are in search of local designers to create four looks and one couture costume for the Oct. 25 show. Each designer will receive up to $750 toward the cost of the couture costume, and judges will award one designer $1,000 as HighBall Designer of the Year. A runner up will win $500, and third place will receive $250.

Interested applicants should reach out to Stephanie Stein at for information. The deadline to apply is this Friday, Aug. 9.

The HighBall fashion show happens right on High Street. The SNA will erect a stage in the Short North, along with three giant screens. The organization expects up to 10,000 spectators at the event.
