A few of her favorite fashionable moments
We're taking a little stroll through the past to talk about our favorite fashion moments. Here, we walk with guest bloggerLiz Cook, a self-described "addict" of shoes and handbags who works in sales in women's shoes atSaks Fifth Avenue.
First time I remember being aware of style:
I became aware of style in middle school.School shopping for me was always a big deal.
First pair of shoes I remember loving:
I remember buying a pair of Steve Maddens.LOVED THEM!They were edgy black leather lace-up sandals.
The thing I wouldn't take off as a kid:
My white patent leather mary janes shoes.I wanted every day to be Easter Sunday
Most memorable first-day-of-school outfit:
I had this yellow two piece long shirt and pant outfit from the Merry Go Round store at Northland Mall and a pair of suede yellow flats.I definitely made a statement with that one
Must-have clothing item or style when I was in junior high:
Ripped jeans (I'm talking with the big huge holes in the knees)
What I wore in my senior pictures:
A black blazer, black MC Hammer pants, a little bra top and a big rimmed leather hat.I clearly thought I was in a music video... but I was cute!
First piece of clothing or shoes I remember splurging on:
First pair was Via Spiga shoes
Most memorable wedding look:
Mine! I was three months pregnant when I got married, so it wasn't a good look at all.
Item in my closet I've had the longest:
I used to go to the Gap and Banana Republic warehouse sales back in the day.I still have a leather skirt, leather jacket and a suede shirt from that sale. Those items are at least 20 years old.
Items I've literally worn out:
Tennis shoes. I used to run a lot
Items I've bought multiples of:
Tanks and t-shirts
Biggest fashion miss (aka: the style moment I wish I could take back):
Back in the early '90s it was about having the hair to go along with the outfit. Back then everything had a 1960s flare to it so all my outfits required a huge French roll in the back of head and waterfall curls spiraling down in the front.
Biggest fashion hit (aka: the style moment that made me feel most amazing):
I have a red and black paisley dress that makes me feel like million bucks every time I put it on.
All-time most memorable style moment:
'80s crimped hair, shoulder pads and parachute pants. It was worn all together and all wrong!
