CMH Fashion Week: Meet the Designers
Name: Erica Woodmore
Credentials: BS in fashion design from University of Cincinnati, 2008. Currently working at Tween Brands (Justice) designing fun specialty product. Cleveland Fashion Week 2012, Plitzs New York Fashion Week 2012, CMH Fashion Week 2012, Rock of Faith Fashion Show 2013, Project Model Fashion Show 2013.
My story: I've created a busy lifestyle and have tons of inspiration and aspirations as the fuel to keep me going. This past year, I've learned to design beyond the runway and now work to ensure my brand supports my own lifestyle-how I like to shop and style myself, mixing high quality core pieces with trendy, less expensive pieces-high impact with minimal effort. I think many other women will relate better to my current work.
Personal style: Luxurious comfort sprinkled with trend
Style icon: Rachel Roy
Favorite designers: Azzedine Alaia, Donna Karan, Rachel Roy, BCBG Max Azria, Chanel (Karl Lagerfeld)
Favorite three pieces in your closet right now: Oversized BCBG lightweight fairisle pullover sweater, vintage cropped and boxy jacket in black and white leopard, chartreuse wideleg pants
True style is... saying everything while saying nothing at all.
This collection: The name of this collection is Blaque Burlesque: strategically placed laces, fringe and rhinestones supporting the art of tease layered on classic silhouettes. All of my collections are separates-driven and are presented in black to support the idea that clothes should be intermixed for the most dynamic wardrobe.
Are items shown in this collection for sale? If so, what are the price points? Yes, several pieces are in development for retail, $110- 350
Do you do custom work? If so, what are the price points? Yes, prices are varied and negotiable based on fabrics chosen, time to complete the work and workmanship necessary. Included in the custom price is an initial consultation, a formal final sketch of your look to keep and fittings.
