CMH Fashion Week launches on Sunday, Oct. 12, with a High Fashion Tea and wraps up on Saturday, Oct. 18, with the 5th Annual Finale Runway Show. Ten local designers will send their looks down the runway, as will headliner Althea Harper. Here, meet designer Marquis L. Engle.

My story:Growing up, I was anything but popular. I can remember being bullied for bring gay and teased for wearing second-hand clothing. After recieving my HIV diagnosis, I had to find an outlet for that pain and that was fashion. Fashion saved my life.
