Trend watchers know "Gatsby" chic is officially ov-er. But who cares what the trendsetters say, because 1920s glam is just so fabulous. If you're looking for an excuse to again don a drop-waist dress and some feathers in your hair, you're in luck. This Saturday, June 13, the Green Lawn Abbey Preservation Association will host its annual Gatsby-themed shindig at the abbey.
The event raises preservation funds for the abbey, one of the city's architectural treasures. A private party in the mausoleum begins at 7 p.m. with live jazz and an open bar (tickets are $75) and, at 8 p.m., the Gatsby Getaway on the terrace kicks off; bring your dancing shoes, as DJ George Brazil will be spinning until midnight. Tickets for the party on the terrace are $40 or $45 the night of; guests will receive $5 "Gatsby Bucks" that can be used at the bar or food trucks. Bonus: Cocktail pros from Mouton will be on-hand to mix your favorite classic cocktail.
