Capital Style is teaming with several local style experts to transform one deserving woman in each issue this year. Meet Jamie Boling, a mother of two young children and caregiver for her husband who was in need of a little "me" time.
Meet Jamie Boling
Family: Husband Joey, son Joshua (2) and daughter Julie (1)
Jamie is a busy mom-on-the-go: She has two children under the age of three, and she takes care of her husband, Joey, who retired from the military after an injury. She's also in school-to add nursing to a repertoire that already includes a master's degree in public health. And, after her back-to-back pregnancies, Jamie has lost nearly 60 pounds. "I like anything outdoors that gets me moving, like hiking or biking," she says. "Health and wellness is my thing." Her makeover came at the perfect time-right before she and Joey embark on a trip to Hawaii, where she lived for six years. It's the first trip the couple is taking sans children, and Jamie's new little black dress is perfect for date night. "I'm the last one to go to bed and the first one to wake up," she says. "I rarely, if ever, get to things for myself. It's nice to get the expert opinion and advice. It's been really fun."
Hair at J.Bentley
Hair Artist Amber Ready used a balayage technique to create subtle highlights in Jamie's hair. "It's a natural, sun-kissed look," Ready says. She also cut Jamie's locks into a long, A-line bob.
Makeup at Skin Perfect
"We're going to play up her eyes for a date night out," says Crystal Argo, cosmetics manager at Skin Perfect, of Jamie's smoky eye makeup. She used violet eye shadow with a hint of charcoal, and added easy gloss and blush to complete the look.
Facial at Skin Perfect
Ashlee Barnum, a clinical esthetician, treated Jamie's skin to dermaplane and a peel.
Outfit from Saks Fifth Avenue
Jamie wears a Parker dress ($462) and Stuart Weitzman wedges ($398). Accessories include a Loeffler Randall bag ($395), Alexis Bittar earrings ($70) and Alexis Bittar bracelets ($130 to $185 each).
