NEW YORK (AP) Chris Martin is lending his talents the Global Citizen organization over the next 15 years to help the group achieve its goal to eradicate extreme poverty by the year 2030.

The Coldplay frontman will help curate concert festivals across the globe like the ones that have been held over the past three years by the Global Citizen in Central Park starring superstars ranging from Jay Z to Stevie Wonder to the Foo Fighters to Alicia Keys.

Global Citizen plans to take the festivals to different cities and countries, including a concert on the mall in Washington in April.

Martin told a group of journalists Friday that while he's done charity concerts before, he'd always wanted to do more and have a more involved role which he has now.
