NEW YORK (AP) U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, a Texas Republican who chairs the House Committee on Homeland Security, has a book deal.

McCaul's "Failures of Imagination: The Deadliest Threats to Our Homeland and How to Thwart Them" will be published Jan. 12 by Crown Forum, the publisher told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

According to Crown Forum, a conservative imprint of the Crown Publishing Group, McCaul will present a "compelling and action-packed narrative" of possible terrorist attacks and how they can be prevented. In a statement released through Crown, McCaul says the "greatest threat to America's homeland is a failure to imagine the worst-case scenarios."

The 53-year-old McCaul was first elected to Congress in 2004.
