LOS ANGELES (AP) - "Suge" Knight's defense attorneys will try to show a softer side of the former rap mogul at his upcoming trial on murder charges.

LOS ANGELES (AP) "Suge" Knight's defense attorneys will try to show a softer side of the former rap mogul at his upcoming trial on murder charges.

In an exclusive preview of their case, attorneys Jeremy Lessem and J. Tooson tell The Associated Press their client was planning to play arcade games with his son after a business meeting in Compton and that Knight had no idea he would be ambushed. Knight ended up running over two men with his truck in the January 2015 confrontation, killing one of them.

The lawyers said Knight feared for his life, and seven bullet wounds from a previous shooting were still fresh in his mind.

Knight's fiancee also tells the AP the public doesn't know the real "Suge," who she called a devoted father and "mama's boy."
