Calling anyone with a major sweet tooth: Don't miss Cakes for a Cause, an April 2 event to benefit the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. The brainchild of wedding and event planners Kasey Skobel-Conyers and Emilie Duncan, 2015 marks the sixth year for Cakes for a Cause. It takes place at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank from 6 to 9 p.m., and there's no shortage of treats. You'll find:

*Hors d'oeuvres from Cameron Mitchell Catering, Two Caterers and Made from Scratch

*Ice cream from Jeni's

*A Snowville Creamery milk bar and a White Castle coffee station

*Wine from Camelot Cellars

*Live and silent auctions, including packages from Hocking Hills Canopy Tours, cakes from local bakers like Jan Kish and Sauer Cakes, and more

*Trivia with DJ Mark Dantzer

And don't miss the main event: the Sweet Taste of Victory Competition. Several local bakers will bring sweets for guests to try, and then the group will vote on their favorite. The prize for the winner? A golden spatula.

Now in its six year, the proceeds from Cakes for a Cause help feed hungry Central Ohioans. Tickets cost $42, and that amount will feed one person every meal each day for two months. "During last year's event, we fed 32 or 34 people every meal every day for one year," Skobel-Conyers says. "Come hungry and ready to bid on some sweet items."
